Google compra Nik Software, creador del editor de fotos Snapseed - Terra Argentina

Google Inc dijo el lunes que compró Nik Software, rival de Instagram y desarrollador de la galardonada aplicación Snapseed para edita imágenes, por una suma no revelada.

Google y Facebook Inc están inmersos en una batalla por atraer a los fanáticos de las redes sociales que cada vez más se pasan a las aplicaciones móviles, como la edición de fotografías.

Si bien no es tan famosa como Instagram, disponible en forma gratuita en los dispositivos móviles de Apple, Snapseed ha ganado muchos seguidores entre los fotógrafos por su capacidad de edición de imágenes a pesar de un precio de 4,99 dólares.

Nik Software dice que Snapseed tiene más de 9 millones de usuarios, en tanto Instagram dice tener más de 100 millones.

"Queremos ayudar a nuestros usuarios a crear fotos que les encanten, y según nuestra experiencia Nik lo hace mejor que nadie", posteó en Google+ Vic Gundotra, vicepresidente senior de ingeniería.

Facebook compró este año Instagram, que desarrolló una aplicación para que los usuarios agreguen filtros y efectos a las fotos que sacan con sus teléfonos inteligentes, por la friolera de 1.000 millones de dólares.

Snapseed obtuvo en el 2011 el premio de Apple Inc "Aplicación del año para iPad" por su interfaz multitáctil de edición de fotos.

"Siempre aspiramos a compartir nuestra pasión por la fotografía con todos, y con el respaldo de Google esperamos poder ayudar a muchos millones más de personas a crear fotografías impresionantes", señaló Nik Software en su sitio en internet.

Gundotra dijo que Google+ había alcanzado más de 400 millones de usuarios esta semana y había traspasado los 100 millones de usuarios activos mensuales.

Google buys Nik Software, Instagram-Terra Argentina

Google Inc said on Monday that bought rival Instagram and developer of the award-winning application Snapseed Nik Software to edit images, for an undisclosed sum.

Google and Facebook Inc. are engaged in a battle to attract fans of social networks increasingly passed to mobile applications such as photo editing.

Although it is not as famous as Instagram, available for free in Apple's mobile devices, Snapseed has won many fans among the photographers for their ability to edit images even with a price of $4.99.

Nik Software says that Snapseed has more than 9 million users, insofar as Instagram claims to have more than 100 million.

"We want to help our users to create pictures that enchant them, and according to our experience Nik makes it better than anybody else," he posted on Google + Vic Gundotra, senior Vice President of engineering.

Facebook bought this year Instagram, which developed an application for users to add filters and effects to photos that take with their smart phones, by a whopping $ 1 billion.

Snapseed won the prize for "Application of the year for iPad" Apple Inc for its multi-touch photo editing interface in 2011.

"We always aspire to share our passion for photography with all, and with the support of Google hope to help many millions more than people to create stunning photographs", said Nik Software on its internet site.

Gundotra said Google + had reached more than 400 million users this week and had crossed the 100 million monthly active users.

A software for the protection of the rights of children and... - Diario Hoy (Argentina)


This unprecedented initiative at the national level won the 3rd provincial experiences of the Provincial Award for innovation in public management, award giving annually the General Secretariat of the Interior, in charge of Eduardo Camaño, along with the Under-Secretariat for the modernization of the State, led by Roberto Reale. THE R.E.U.N.A. was developed by the Under-Secretariat for the promotion and protection of the rights of the child, dependent on the Secretariat of childhood and adolescence, in charge of Pablo Navarro.

In order to deepen and the advances of this pioneer experience, Undersecretary Roberto Reale visited the Agency, seizing the opportunity to personally congratulate all those who participated in the award-winning project. There, said: "The Governor Daniel Scioli asks us we powering innovation initiatives that, through the use of new technologies, serve to give practical solutions to complex issues." The R.E.U.N.A. system allows you to integrate all the zonal services and premises for the promotion and protection of rights of the child in the area of the province of Buenos Aires, making it possible to work with information accurate and systematic, to create a record complete and up-to-date population adolescent with which intervenes, who mostly are threatened or violated rights and the type and quality of interventions that are made to end ensure the protection and restoration of them.
