“*LOL ¿es ésta tu foto de perfil nuevo?*”. Es la pregunta que te puede llevar al martirio digital si es que estás conectado a Skype y tuviste la mala fortuna de que un software malicioso pretenda meterse en tu computadora.

Kaspersky Lab indicó que el malware Dorkbot ha infectado a miles de personas vía Skype a nivel mundial en los últimos días. El código maligno se empezó a propagar el sábado 6 de octubre mediante el servicio de videollamadas y en las primeras dos horas recibió 484.111 clics.

Dmitry Bestuzhev, experto informático de Kaspersky, explicó que el malware se propaga por medio del mensaje “LOL ¿es ésta tu foto de perfil nuevo?” y una vez que el usuario hace clic en él, se le redirige a descargar un archivo desde hotfile.com que contiene el malware.

“La máquina de la víctima también llega a formar parte de una botnet, y hasta archivos pueden ser tomados rehenes hasta que un pago de $ 200 se efectúe dentro de 24 a 48 horas. El malware propaga aun mas enviándole este mismo mensaje a los contactos de Skype del usuario”, precisó.

Bestuzhev dijo que actualmente 27 de 43 motores de antivirus ya detectan al malware Dorkbot y el número real de clics es de más de un millón.

Las computadoras infectadas roban información de inicio de sesión del usuario y la contraseña utilizada para acceder a varios sitios web como GoDaddy, Alertpay, Netflix, Thepiratebay, Torrentleech, eBay, Twitter, Facebook, Yahoo, PayPal, entre otros.

“A pesar de que el URL malicioso Hotfile ya está muerto, la gente sigue haciendo clic en él, lo que significa que la campaña maliciosa mantiene un bajo nivel de actividad. Hemos descubierto que el malware ‘habla’ muchos idiomas, así que ha infectado a más personas que las inicialmente pensadas”, dijo Bestuzhev mediante un comunicado.

Según Domingo Paredes, presidente del Consejo Nacional Electoral (CNE),  el actual sistema informático del organismo es totalmente vulnerable y toda la base de datos se ha entregado a la Fiscalía.

Por ello, una misión de técnicos viaja a México, Panamá y Colombia -ya estuvo en Perú- para encontrar un "sistema fiable que nos de toda la seguridad de que las elecciones del próximo año serán confiables... Ahora estamos  trabajando en la definición de un sistema de escrutinio y consolidación para el  día de las elecciones".
Paredes anticipó que no utilizará el nuevo sistema "sin el visto bueno de auditores informáticos de las agrupaciones políticas" inscritas y aprobadas en el Consejo Nacional Electoral.

El CNE arrancará con el análisis del sistema después del 18 de octubre, cuando empiecen las inscripciones de las candidaturas a las diferentes dignidades de elección popular.
Paredes también anunció en una rueda de prensa que desde este miércoles los grupos políticos que fueron descalificados tienen los mecanismos legales para impugnar y demandar las resoluciones que se anunciaron la noche del martes.
Dijo que en el caso de Concertación (que ya tenía personería jurídica desde el 7 de julio pasado) movimiento del actual asambleísta César Montúfar, fue descalificado porque no cumplió con el 1,5% de firmas del padrón electoral, como manda la Ley.
"En este caso no alcanzó el número de firmas válidas", reiteró el funcionario electoral.

Montúfar calificó a la resolución del CNE como un acto ilegal. "Nosotros presentamos 390.000 firmas y el mismo CNE resolvió en sesión del 7 de julio pasado en Loja que habíamos cumplido todos los requisitos para ser calificados como organización política. Para extinguir a una organzación de debe aplicar el articulo 327 del Código de la Democracia que señala tres causales para ello y ninguno de esos incurrimos nosotros".
Insistió en que la resolución no tiene piso y que es una orden de retaliación y venganza del presidente Rafael Correa "por lo que hemos hecho en la Asamblea Nacional en el caso de Diario El Universo, caso Duzac, entre otros". Por ello dijo "vamos a luchar y apelar esa mala decisión".
Ayer, quedaron oficializadas 117 organizaciones políticas nacionales y provinciales para participar en las elecciones de febrero del 2013.

Hay que ser capaz de ubicar el dedo correcto sobre la tecla que representa una nota en particular y en el momento adecuado. A veces hay que leer no sólo una nota a la vez, sino acordes de tres, cuatro e incluso diez al mismo tiempo.

A ello se suman las técnicas específicas de movimiento de cada mano, la muñeca y el brazo, sin olvidar las marcas de expresión, matices, fraseo y tiempo, o el toque interpretativo según el estilo de la pieza.

El aprendizaje de algunos de estos puntos se podría facilitar con un nuevo software desarrollado por investigadores de la Universidad de California (UC) en Davis, Estados Unidos, diseñado para generar una animación en tres dimensiones en la que un personaje toca el piano mostrando la colocación idónea de los dedos y los movimientos de muñeca.

Lo novedoso del programa es que genera la animación automáticamente a partir de un archivo de audio. Se trata de todo un reto, teniendo en cuenta la dificultad que conlleva cualquier reproducción tocando el piano de forma correcta, por la limitación en la coordinación de movimientos de la mano derecha, los complejos cruces de dedos para dar en la nota correcta y conseguir acordes variados o, como apuntan los investigadores, “por el elevado grado de libertad de la mano y los dedos”.

El trabajo se ha dado a conocer recientemente con la publicación de un artículo aparecido en la revista Animación por ordenador y mundos virtuales, bajo el título “Un sistema para animar piezas de piano por ordenador”.

De él también se ha hecho eco la revista Phys.org. En él, los autores Yuanfeng Zhu, Ajay Sundar Ramakrishnan, Bernd Hamann y Michael Neff explican los algoritmos y métodos utilizados para generar de forma automática animaciones de interpretaciones al piano a partir de un archivo de música.

Planificando el movimiento

El sistema recibe órdenes para saber qué dedos usar y cuándo, si debe cruzar las manos o tocar varias notas al mismo tiempo, y todo ello en cualquier estilo musical sin nada más que una pista de audio. Para que esto ocurra, los investigadores diseñaron un algoritmo que tiene en cuenta dónde están las notas en un piano y cómo funciona el cuerpo humano.

Al igual que el hombre ha evolucionado su técnica para tocar este instrumento a lo largo de la historia, buscando el uso de los dedos y las posiciones de las manos más fáciles de alcanzar, el sistema reproduce esta lógica.

Así, se utiliza un gráfico basado en el método de planificación de movimiento para decidir qué dedos deben golpear las teclas del piano para cada acorde. Como se prevé la progresión de la música, el algoritmo calcula también la posición de los dedos no utilizados, para hacer posible una digitación eficiente de las próximas notas.

La clave es la postura de las manos, incluyendo la de técnicas complejas como cruzar los dedos y adornos más avanzados como los arpegios. Para refinar estas posturas se utilizar un método de optimización, reproduciendo una secuencia de poses naturales y mínimamente enérgicos. La transición de movimientos entre posturas se genera mediante una combinación de muestras reales de personas tocando el piano y de propiedades musicales, de forma que el sistema pueda adaptarse a diferentes estilos.

Los investigadores de la UC validaron su propuesta comparando directamente el toque real del piano con una simulación de una pieza musical completa en la que se pusieron a prueba diferentes habilidades. En concreto, se seleccionó la composición Childhood Memory de Mussorgsky para demostrar cómo se defendía el software en el cruce de dedos o con los arpegios.

El resultado es una técnica lo suficientemente realista como para aplicarse a la enseñanza. “En una clase de piano, dada cualquier pieza de música, los aprendices tienen dificultades para determinar la digitación más eficaz y para conseguir exactamente la forma en que se supone que debe realizarse. Por lo tanto, un sistema capaz de generar una animación de alta calidad puede ser útil en la enseñanza”, plantean los investigadores.

Así, estudiantes de piano podrían utilizar una cámara para grabar su práctica y a continuación comprobar la actuación del programa con la misma pieza musical, para ver si sus manos habían seguido la mejor posición posible. Los autores también afirman que sería posible aplicar la animación a otros instrumentos, como violines y flautas.

No obstante, el software actual parece quedarse por debajo de su objetivo para ofrecer una “animación de piano de alta calidad”, pues tiene algunas limitaciones. Varios comentarios de reacción al vídeo de este trabajo cuestionan si los dedos parecen reales o incluso los comparan con crepes enrollados, lo que puede distraer al espectador que trata de concentrarse en el sistema como una herramienta de aprendizaje.

Por ello, los investigadores tratarán de mejorar el sistema para generar animaciones con diferentes modelos de manos, y en diversos tamaños, para adaptarse a las necesidades de cada estudiante. En la misma línea, otra limitación que han apreciado es que, aunque parece que los dedos rozan la superficie del piano, no se aprecia lo suficiente en las teclas negras, como si no alcanzaran, punto que también deberán mejorar.

Pero sobre todo seguirán trabajando para generar “el toque emocional del piano que refleja una comprensión personal de la pieza y del rendimiento del aprendiz”, así como la digitación automática de las dos manos. El método actual genera los dedos de cada mano por separado, lo que ocasiona problemas a la hora de interpretar una melodía de manera continua con las dos manos, por lo que tratarán de planificarlas simultáneamente.

Los sitios diseñados con esta herramienta de especialistas de un Centro Conacyt son más seguros ante ataques de hackers.

México. Expertos del Fondo de Información y Documentación para la Industria (INFOTEC) desarrollaron un modelo tecnológico gratuito apto para que diversas instituciones públicas y privadas gestionen su información bajo los estándares de la web 3.0 (denominada web semántica).

El ingeniero Javier Solís González, gerente de Desarrollo de Nuevos Productos de INFOTEC, explicó que SWB Portal es una tecnología informática de Código Abierto (Open Source) destinada a construir portales web con mayor interoperabilidad. Este “portalizador” permite a las empresas, organizaciones e instituciones actuar en conjunto en la construcción informativa de cualquier portal de internet.

Los sitios web diseñados a partir de SWB Portal posibilitan que, en la industria, todas las áreas laborales con acceso a esta herramienta, puedan construir en conjunto todo el contenido de las páginas que conforman su portal. De manera que áreas como las administrativas, operativas, de logística o las relacionadas con mercadotecnia, pueden gestionar su información sin la dependencia de un área que centralice esa labor.

Incluso, agregó Solís González, debido a sus cualidades semánticas, SWB Portal posibilita el diseño de portales configurables de acuerdo a las necesidades de quien ingresa a consumir la información (los visitantes). “Por ejemplo, un portal puede auto-configurarse de acuerdo a la necesidad de la persona que ingrese, ya sea cliente, proveedor, visitante de determinada edad, sexo, escolaridad, entre diversas posibilidades”, detalló el experto.

Por otra parte, un portal semántico diseñado con la herramienta SWB Portal posibilita mayor seguridad ante ataques de hackers, debido a que la información se encuentra descentralizada. “Las diversas configuraciones que dan forma a las páginas del portal se encuentran en memorias virtuales y no en un servidor central lo que impide grandes vulnerabilidades”, puntualizó el funcionario de INFOTEC.

Los usuarios que ingresen a un portal semántico diseñado mediante SWB Portal observarán de inmediato los beneficios de la búsqueda semántica, en diversas ocasiones etiquetada como “la búsqueda que interpreta el pensamiento”. Ello debido a que gracias a las potencialidades de la Plataforma SemanticWebBuilder para etiquetar,  clasificar y contextualizar la información existente el usuario encontrará lo que necesita de una manera más amable y certera respecto a los navegadores convencionales (2.0).

En palabras del ingeniero Solís González, las entidades que podrían obtener mayor beneficio de esta tecnología son aquellas que, debido a su tamaño, requieren que diversas áreas produzcan y difundan información. Reconoció que las medianas y grandes empresas, instituciones gubernamentales, así como organizaciones no gubernamentales, son las entidades que podrían beneficiarse con esta tecnología.

Actualmente, cerca del 90 por ciento de instancias gubernamentales como la Secretaría de Educación Pública, la Secretaría de Gobernación o la Secretaría de Energía, entre muchas otras, han probado con éxito la funcionalidad de SWB Portal. Los usuarios pueden apreciar páginas más rápidas y su búsqueda de información es mucho más eficiente.

Groupon: de los cupones al software para el punto de venta - ITespresso.es

Groupon ofrecerá una solución TPV para los negocios locales que ha sido desarrollada por su filial Breadcrumb.

En mayo la empresa de cupones Groupon se hacía con Breadcrumb, una compañía neoyorquina especializada en software para el punto de venta, principalmente para restaurantes, bares o cafés. Era cuestión de tiempo que la compañía de ofertas creara una propuesta fuerte para dar el salto al negocio del TPV.

Cinco meses después, así lo ha hecho. Groupon ha generado un nuevo software para estos clientes con el nombre de su ya filial, Breadcrumb. Tiene sentido, ya que en esta ha caído todo el peso de su desarrollo. De momento, la app solo funciona para locales de EE.UU.

Con esta iniciativa Groupon persigue el objetivo de abaratar los costes para los negocios, que están acostumbrados a pagar altas cantidades por sistemas anticuados y de baja gama. La firma de cupones permitirá que su software pueda utilizarse en un iPad, reduciendo así costes en cajas registradoras, impresoras de recibos y accesos a Internet independientes.  Groupon asegura que su solución no supone más que algunos cientos de dólares en comparación con los miles que conllevan las otras.

El lanzamiento a este nuevo campo también busca una doble finalidad: el afianzamiento de las relaciones con los comerciantes para que estos se animen a acogerse a sus cupones en el futuro.

“En lo que realmente queremos enfocarnos es en el uso de servicios adicionales para fortalecer la propuesta de valor que tenemos para nuestros comerciantes”, ha explicado Andrew Mason, CEO de Groupon, según informa All Things Digital.

Groupon también ha entrado recientemente en otro nuevo campo complementario al de su software para iPad: el negocio de los pagos móviles, mediante Groupon Payments. Con esta herramienta los negocios pueden cobrar a sus clientes directamente desde sus tarjetas de crédito a través de un iPhone o iPod. Esta maniobra ha sido bien vista por los mercados, con un aumento del valor de las acciones de la compañía en bolsa.

18 de setiembre se esta realizando los festejos mundiales del Día del Software Libre.

En dicho evento se busca difundir el software libre, abordándolo desde charlas de expertos hasta experiencias reales de usuarios comunes. También se intenta “evangelizar” a autoridades gubernamentales, instituciones educativas y empresas para que se animen a dar el salto hacia tecnologías libres.

El evento se desarrollará el mismo día en todo el mundo y en muchas ciudades; en Argentina, hasta ahora, hay 14 ciudades confirmadas, entre las cuales podemos encontrar a Rosario, la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, Neuquén, Córdoba, San Miguel de Tucumán, entre otras. Si se animan a ir , encontraran muchas charlas informativas y participativas donde podrán interiorizarse más en la temática del software libre.

Si no les basta con los cientos de blogs que hay hoy en día y necesitan un poco de comprobación empírica, está es su oportunidad para acercarse al software libre.

SAN RAMON, California, 19 September 2012/PRNewswire / - GENIVI Alliance, an Association of the automotive industry and electronic consumption driving the development and adoption of a reference open In-vehicle platform Infotainment (IVI), today announced that its development of components becomes new public open source community projects sponsored by the Alliance.

All the code specified for compliance with GENIVI is, and will continue to be made up of approved open source components. Today, 95% of the GENIVI compliance software components is already adopted or adapted from existing open source projects.

When the Alliance was initially unable to find a home in the community for some components, GENIVI had originally developed this "in-house" software. Through these projects supported recently created, the components now will develop in the FOSS (Free and Open-Source Software) community.

The first three projects are Layer Manager, Audio Manager and Automotive DLT (Diagnostic Log and Trace). More technical information about these projects is available at www.genivi.org [http://www.genivi.org/].

During his opening statement in the Automotive Linux Summit of the Linux Foundation in Gaydon, England, Matt Jones, Vice President, GENIVI and technical leader of Next Generation Infotainment Systems, Jaguar Land Rover, said: "Moving our code internal to the public model of open source community development activities, GENIVI expected to simplify the contribution of its members and become involved with individual taxpayers in community FOSS which are not members." "The benefit for developers of open source is freely available access to automotive software advanced, an opportunity to directly contribute to its development, and clear a path for the adoption of this technology by related industries." Adding: "the benefit for GENIVI is a level of increased interest and activity towards the goal of the Alliance of a common software for IVI infrastructure".

The Linux Foundation, the non-profit consortium dedicated to the growth of Linux and FOSS, will offer professional services to accommodate all the GENIVI sponsored projects.

"Giving GENIVI centralized resources for hosting your code, can help to increase collaboration in the Linux community and open source", said Jim Zemlin, executive director of the Linux Foundation.

All projects will be maintained by GENIVI throughout his life in the open source environment. When it deemed beneficial, GENIVI can also merge specific projects with other existing successful community projects to foster development.

Adaptar sus productos al cloud es otra de sus prioridades y líneas de acción para los próximos ejercicios. Su intención es que sus soluciones estén en el entorno cloud en 2015. La nube, según considera Aragonés, presenta nuevas oportunidades de negocio para su red de distribución por todos “servicios de parametrización e integración que puede aportar el partner”.
Además, no dejará de impulsar su red de distribución ya que quiere reforzar su canal con nuevos miembros. Un ejemplo de esto es que a las jornadas se ha invitado a siete partners potenciales para tratar de cerrar una nueva relación comercial.
Las Jornadas Comerciales han sido también el marco elegido para dar a conocer su nueva adquisición: la empresa EDS Informática, especializada en aplicaciones para asesorías laborales, fiscales y contables y para administración de empresas.
Esta compra, como resaltó Josep Aragonés, se enmarca dentro de su política de crecimiento a través de adquisiciones y refuerza su presencia dentro del mercado de las Asesorías y Despachos profesionales.

URSOS es una aplicaci?n de software para el dise?o y evaluaci?n de urbanizaciones energ?ticamente eficientes, aplicando al mismo tiempo criterios de sostenibilidad medio ambiental. Surge de la necesidad de evaluar de manera global el comportamiento energ?tico de una urbanizaci?n, dado que las aplicaciones existentes se limitaban al an?lisis de edificios individualmente.

La evaluaci?n de dicho desarrollo se realiza desde un doble punto de vista: por un lado el programa calcula las demandas energ?ticas de cada edificio teniendo en cuenta inputs clim?ticos, trayectorias solares, sombras y caracter?sticas de edificios y por otro lado eval?a diversos ?ndices de sostenibilidad en t?rminos de consumos energ?ticos, medioambientales y de calidad de vida. Google buys Nik Software, Instagram-Terra Argentina
