Siemens Industry Software has presented the latest version of the software, NX ™, the integrated solution for the design assisted by computer, manufacturing and engineering (CAD/CAM/CAE) analysis of the company. The latest NX 8.5, includes extensive enhancements new features that provide greater flexibility and productivity through product and manufacturing engineering to help reduce time to market and customer-oriented. NX 8.5 is based on Siemens HD-PLM Software Industry vision, which was established to help companies make smarter decisions more efficiently with a higher level of trust.

"The great customer-focused improvements and new features in NX 8.5 will help our customers to reduce time to market and facilitate smarter decisions that result in better products," says Jim Rusk, senior vice president, Product Engineering Software, Siemens Industry Software. "By integrating information intelligently and provide customers with a high-definition user experience, we are strengthening our commitment to HD-PLM." NX 8.5 also continues with our approach to maximize the return on investment in PLM customers. "To carry out extensive testing to ensure the version compatibility between each new, can provide a future-proof architecture"

NX 8.5 for the design

NX 8.5 offers a wide range of new and improved design features to help improve the efficiency and reduce design time. Help increase productivity, minimize entry and reduce the effort required to carry out the tasks of design streamlined workflows and an enhanced user experience.

In addition, new design commands help shorten the design cycle time up to 30 percent. For example, the new Emboss Body command requires fewer steps when you combine an area of faces from other solid body intersection or foil. NX 8.5 also includes new features for modeling, sheet metal design, free modeling, validation checking and processing.

NX 8.5 continues using synchronous technology, an innovation of Siemens Industry Software that combines the speed and flexibility of direct modeling with precise control of the design that provides a better way to create and edit the designs to designers and engineers.

NX 8.5 for simulation

NX 8.5 includes new enhancements of simulation that helps teams develop more efficient engineering products. For example, the new optimization such as NX Shape Optimization Tools suggest specific and detailed improvements over an existing design to reduce the concentration of efforts. NX 8.5 also includes improvements in the simulation of structural, thermal modeling, workflow, movement and multi-fisico analysis to help prepare a quicker and more accurate analysis models, while improving the speed of time resolution up to 25%.

The release of NX 8.5 for the simulation also includes a new widely used version, the NX software Nastran ®, a FEA Solver for the computational performance, accuracy, reliability, and scalability. The new version of NX Nastran 8.5 further increases the types of solutions that may be carried out, as well as the number of improvements in computational performance and engineering workflow, such as connections and rigid contacts of type edge to edge.

NX 8.5 for the manufacture

8.5 NX. It includes the full version of Volume Based 2.5 d Milling. Customers working with the initial introduction of this approach based on the solids for the programming of parts of prismatic shape have reported excellent ease of use and speed of programming. Also new are functions of support and automation of machining by parties and by stages. These new features in NX CAM 8.5 are particularly relevant for the type of pieces that are usually found in the machinery industry.

The inspection of the highly automated quality offered by NX CMM Inspection Programming has been added to NX 8.5 with the measurement results analysis and visualization in NX. NX CMM expands the value of NX as a unique and comprehensive solution for the manufacturing engineering.

Addition, the new library of cutting tools and CAM data management capabilities support a more rapid NC programming and make it easier to access and re-use information resources; and ensure the use of the appropriate data for the NC programming through the machinery.

Expected NX 8.5 available in its English version in October. For more detailed information about new features in NX 8.5, visit www.siemens.es/plm/nx85.
